FLORENCE: FORM & SPACE

Sale Price: $1,800.00 Original Price: $2,000.00

June 23-28, 2026

Florence—the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance—will be our classroom for this five-day workshop! We will explore this beautiful city with its world-class museums and breathtaking cityscapes.

Our focus will be on two of the main tenets of the Italian Renaissance: the surge towards naturalistic form, and the use of linear and atmospheric perspective to create depth.

Our mornings will begin with an informal conversational Italian class, followed by 3-hour museum sketching sessions to study historical masterpieces. Learn to use a variety of traditional drawing techniques and materials great for sketching: graphite, charcoal, pen, and pastel pencils. After a midday break, we’ll meet again in the afternoon and head outdoors to draw/paint the architecture, sculpture, and natural beauty of this uniquely vibrant place. Some plein air locations will allow paint, but I will focus primarily on drawing materials for demos and museum sketching.

All levels are welcome, and spaces are limited to 11 maximum.
